So is anyone going to this year's Anime Expo? I will be there all 4 days, working at one of the booths in the exhibit hall (more information to come). If enough people from MangaUpdates are going, we can even arrange a time/place where we can all meet each other 554v2n

Now to tell you guys where I'll be most of the time...

I'll be working with a company called Hen Da Ne! Inc, and we have a booth in the exhibit hall. We mainly sell doujinshi (hentai, yaoi, yuri, non-hentai), imported games (hentai and non-hentai), and paddles. And just to note, I'm working here not because I like the stuff but because a fellow fansubber is an employee there

Now how to recognize the booth...

Or if that doesn't work, ask to talk to Chris, then ask Chris about "lamb" (it's possible that I'm on a break or at some event, , etc during the time you visit the booth, so don't take offense if I'm not there)

A just ruler amongst tyrants

For those of you that don't know, Anime Expo is the largest anime/manga convention in North America. It is hosted in Southern California every year on July 4th weekend. This year is during July 2-5 in the LA Convention Center.

Main events include AX Idol (think American Idol but with Japanese songs), AMV Contest (animated music video), Masquerade (a show put on by the cosplayers, different concerts by celebrated groups, and of course Opening/Closing Ceremonies.

Other than that, there's various cosplay events, console gaming, trading card games, dancing, karaoke, s, workshops, trivia, and last but certainly not least, there are many halls dedicated to people just to watch anime. I think there's even a maid cafe this year...

As for the goods, we got the Artist Alley (filled with the talent of the current/next generation), a manga cafe (where you just sit and read manga...very peaceful...), and of course the exhibit hall, where all the merchandise is!

To top it off, there are many acclaimed guests of honor and people from the industry.

This is a ticket event, so now. And do note that just by buying the ticket now (even though it's so late) instead of at the door will save you $5. Tickets can be bought for all 4 days, 2 consecutive days, or for a single day.

A just ruler amongst tyrants

Since I'm around LA this summer, I'll be there for one day with some friends from college. Dunno if I'd want to meet up with a group of people from MU, but I'll stop by your booth. 🙂

I'm definitely going, since my group is in the masquerade. I'm planning to attend Day 0, 2 - 4 (day 1 i have class at 5-7; still working out to see if i can miss class or not). Originally I was hoping to have two cosplay and 1 back-up, but looks like I'm going with only 1 cosplay and 1 back-up. (Back-up is for when my cosplay becomes unwearable). If i have enough spare money, i'll go search for jackie chan adventure attires.
The only two gatherings I plan to attend(/participate) is the Capcom Vs SNK gathering as well as the Video Game gathering (day 2 and 3 respectively). I'll definitely visit your booth lambchopsil with obvious info like where your working and how to find you . 😛

Don't know about before AE'08 but lamb dumped the workload on me just last month and I've been rushing it while planning and hosting the week long ToyCon, Cosplay Con, and PS3 Tounaments (Thank God they're finally over).

Once again I was supposed to go but my plans fell through. My friends (who aren't interested in anime) agreed to come with me, but they changed their minds. I really need to find some otaku, but unfortunately I don't know where they are hiding.

I'm going on the 4th, and I hope to make it at least one other day. I'd love to say "hi" 😀
